Vintage 1/144 Geara Doga

I bought this kit a couple years ago before the HGUC Geara Doga was announced, cuz I really like the design and didn't think Bandai would make a HG or MG. When Bandai announced the HGUC, I decided to use this kit to work on my scratchbuilding/modifying skills. Got a pile of aftermarket parts to put on it, and some joint mods planned to make this better than a HGUC. It's been sitting on my desk since then, waiting for me to get my other kits finished first.

Snapped kit unmodified, seem lines from hell. This is about as exciting posing gets with the stock kit.

Front piece of the body, will cut the waist, detach the skirt armors.

Waist cut, half skirt armors removed.

Close up of the waist cut.

Skirt pieces.

Replaced the leg peg with a ball joint.

Weeee, splits. Just need to work on the ankles.

Unmodified backpack, the plastic thrusters have a tab that goes in those slots. Range of motion is non-existent.

Opened up the backpack to recess the mounts for the new metal thrusters.

Thruster mount, looks terrible, but the worst parts aren't visible from the outside once its installed. I cleaned it up a bit more after I took these pictures.

Thruster mount in backpack.

Range of thruster motion demonstration.
