MG Gouf Space-type WIP 3

Wheeee!!! More progress on the Gouf. The shoulders are almost done, just need to add mounts for the thrusters. The feet are almost done, just need to finish the soles. Knees are done. Thighs are almost done, just need to mount the thrusters. Just need to start on the second calf thruster cowling, and the backpack. I still haven't decided on a design for the backpack, or weither I'm gonna change the lower arms.

The original Kampfer part has this large gap. I didn't like it for the Gouf and decided to get rid of it, and a large part of the inside since it lowered the mobility.

I cut off the area I didn't want, and glued the pieces back together to get rid of the gap.

This left a \/ where the part edges were beveled, and the top didn't line up so well. Tamiya Quick-type epoxy soived the problems. Holes were drilled through the Kampfer part and into the Gouf thigh to glue mounting pins. I first tried to put the pins on the outside, but decided to put the pins on the top. I decided to fill in the 'notch' left from the Kampfer's design at this time.

I decided to extend the foot with the front of the Kampfer foot. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this before, since my original idea was to keep the Kampfer's 'toes' as well. I took Funaka's advice to ditch the 'toes' and incorporate some Gundam Mk II design with the gaps in the front of the foot.

The front of the Gouf foot was filed down to fit inside the Kampfer toe, and the gap was filled with putty, and smoothed out.

The bottom will be more difficult, now I have to modifiy the raised design. I have a idea sharpied in at the moment, but I haven't started to work on this yet.

I got some Mesh Chain for the power cables, I decided to place bits of styrene tube around the chain where it mounts fo the kit. The chain I ordered from Mecha Skunk way back, didn't see anymore when I snagged a bunch more K-Thrusters from his fire-sale. Thinking about ordering a second batch from his fire-sale before they're all gone.
